Milton Hershey Health Center Phase II

During Phase I of the Milton Hershey Health Center Project an existing portion of the building that was to be tied into on both ends was deemed structurally unsound.  As a result the existing portion of building was removed in its entirety in lieu of being renovated and a new structure installed.  The new structure to be installed is Milton Hershey Health Center Phase Phase II a 14,000 square foot, two (2) story, classroom, examination, and office addition that ties together the cafeteria and the gymnasium.

The project utilizes the equipment originally purchased for Phase I including two (2) air handling units and forty-nine (49) variable air volume (VAV) units.  The system is a VAV reheat system that ties into the boilers and cooling tower from Phase I.  In addition to the new building, Phase II also includes the fit out of the gymnasium section.  Silvertip was also the mechanical contractor for Phase I for both plumbing and HVAC.  The project is scheduled to be complete in June 2010.  For additional information on this project please see the updates below.

Update - March 29, 2010

Mechanical systems are complete on the 1st Floor with insulation proceeding.  Mechanical systems are 50% complete on the 2nd Floor including the installation of all VAV boxes and AHU-2 on the 3rd Floor.  Tie-in of the main chilled water and hot water systems from the cafeteria section through Phase II to the gymnasium section is being scheduled for next week.  A recent in-wall inspection of Phase II found no deficiencies on the 1st Floor; an above ceiling inspection is scheduled for a later date.
